Solution Architect, Custody (80-100%)

About the role

We are looking for a Solution Architect for Custody (80-100%) to join our Enterprise Architecture team, reporting directly to the Head of Architecture. In this role, you will mentor the other team members and participate in all relevant ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinements, Steering Committees, etc.) for the teams you oversee.

Main tasks

• Act as a technical stakeholder to the Custody Value Stream Leadership Team and work closely with Business Owners and Product Leads to prioritize deliverables.
• Define and develop the delivery route for the custody value stream together with the business owners and project managers.
• Define and evolve the system architecture to meet business requirements, stability, maintainability and security requirements, and ensure the long-term technical direction of the custody value stream.
• Ensure compliance with best security and enterprise architecture standards and work closely with the rest of the Enterprise Architecture and CISO team to ensure compliance with established corporate and security standards.
• Work closely with Tech Leads to understand and develop the platform towards the desired goal.
• Design, document and communicate all technical and architectural decisions and roadmaps.

Ideal candidate

• Solid understanding of cryptography and blockchain concepts, digital asset security and key management best practices (HSMs, Trusted Execution Environment, etc.)
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) with 10+ years of experience in an engineering, architecture or technical architecture role.
• Solid understanding of architectural patterns, modern tech stacks and security.
• Proven experience in the design and implementation of key business and technical initiatives.
• In-depth and practical knowledge of TypeScript (NestJS) or Java 21.
• Manage day-to-day interactions with business users and technology teams.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to make mature judgments.
• Willingness to mentor people and teams and participate directly in code implementations when required.
• Strong desire to learn continuously.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to support the business owners in defining a product roadmap and the future of the Sygnum Custody business.
• Highly organized and experienced in communicating across teams, geographies and functions.
