Solution Architect - Data & AI

Tasks

• Document the application architecture for the business unit across multiple programs.
• Collaborate with data management teams to design Snowflake solutions based on specific requirements.
• Develop data modeling frameworks, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Ensure data integrity while maintaining traceability from source to destination.
• Partner with analysts to develop a proof of concept (PoC) to validate the solution architecture through testing before going into production.
• Collaborate with various cross-functional teams to ensure that architectural solutions meet operational and business requirements.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Northern Trust's data architecture principles and solutions.
• Design, document, and review architecture components, including ERDs, data flow diagrams, integration sequence diagrams, and logical database models.
• Effectively communicate design decisions and gather feedback to shape the final architecture.
• Resolve ambiguous and technology-related issues across platforms and organizations.
• Recommend architectural designs to the business and solution teams.
• Strong unbiased and coaching skills to help solution teams design and validate solution artifacts
• Problem-solving and analytical skills, along with the ability to evaluate and define complex business considerations.
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure

Requirements

• Expertise in implementing Snowflake on the Azure Cloud to address complex business needs.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of production-ready AI business tools.
• Promote data and AI strategies among stakeholders, such as business users and various teams, through design, documentation, review, and cross-team support.
• Technical Architect responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining business applications.
• Experience in investment management or asset management is recommended.
• Leads technology proof-of-concept projects to ensure the feasibility of architectural solutions.
• Demonstrates strong thought leadership in the pursuit of modern architectural principles, scalable patterns, and technology modernization.
• Proficient in designing databases, data models, data processes, and data warehouse applications using best practices and tools.
• Azure cloud solution architect to provide technology solutions to business problems, with a strong understanding of the various services available on Azure.
• Leading teams through influence to help them build their knowledge of end-to-end solution considerations using domain-driven design and other modern engineering practices.
• Data Architect with a data product mindset, building a strategic data platform.
• Expert-level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts, and database architecture.
• Strong understanding of Snowflake's internal workings, integration, and data processing. Experience with the creation, maintenance, and optimization of Snowflake databases.
• In-depth understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data stores, methods, and approaches.
• Experience with Dimensional, Star, Data Vault, and Snowflake data modeling
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing database models (LDM & PDM), data diagrams, database schemas, and DB scripts.

We offer

• Salary Range: $137,400 - 233,600 USD
• The salary range is a good-faith estimate of base pay.
