Sourcing Category Manager - Software

Nomura is seeking a Sourcing Category Manager - Software, who will be part of the Group Sourcing team in London and responsible for developing and implementing software procurement strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in software procurement and strong skills in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.

Tasks

The role involves working as part of a category team, which is part of the overall sourcing team. The main responsibilities are:
  • Supporting the Global Sourcing Category Lead – Software in developing the overall donation category strategy in partnership with key stakeholders and monitoring the effective implementation of this strategy
  • Management and/or oversight of category-wide efficiency and governance initiatives
  • Effectively managing and delivering new deals and renewals, including:
    • Influencing the adoption of appropriate procurement strategies and activities
    • Management of RFPs and tenders, including complex and high-profile commercial/contractual negotiations
    • Significant interaction with senior internal customers and senior representatives of external suppliers
    • Preparation and presentation of meaningful deal summaries/recommendations
    • Working as part of cross-functional and cross-regional teams
    • Maintenance of deal pipelines
  • Provision of a commercial advisory service for key stakeholders
  • Achieving or exceeding a set of financial and non-financial performance targets
  • Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with stakeholders
  • Establishing strong supplier relationships and supply management programs; initiating measures with suppliers in coordination with the business and corporate functions
  • Supporting the ongoing development of Nomura's group sourcing function
  • Supporting the implementation of business continuity plans and proactive operational risk management (if applicable)

Requirements

The following requirements are necessary:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent
  • CIPS or other professional procurement/purchasing qualifications are desirable
  • Several years of experience in procurement for relevant expenditure categories in a blue-chip environment, with a proven track record of success in managing commercial and contractual activities, including:
    • Support in the development and maintenance of strategic, category-wide plans and initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders
    • portfolio analysis
    • Effectively influencing the procurement strategy for individual projects
    • Leading comprehensive market analyses, competitive bidding, and negotiations for regional and global agreements with a range of values and complexities
    • Renegotiation and text extraction from existing leasing agreements / suppliers
    • Knowledge of pricing and contract mechanisms for global corporate suppliers
    • Excellent understanding of commercial levers and legal terms related to software contracts
