Job description

Job title: Sourcing Category Manager - Software. This role can be considered either on a permanent basis or as a 12-month contract.

Tasks

The tasks include:
  • Support the Global Sourcing Category Lead - Software in developing the overall strategy for the spending category in partnership with key stakeholders and manage the effective implementation of this strategy.
  • Influencing and monitoring benchmarking and governance initiatives at category level
  • Effectively managing and delivering new deals and renewals, including influencing the adoption of appropriate procurement strategies and activities
  • Management of RFPS and renewals, including complex and high-profile commercial/contractual regulations
  • Significant interaction with senior internal customers and senior representatives of external suppliers
  • Preparation and presentation of meaningful deal summaries/recommendations
  • Working as part of cross-functional and cross-regional teams
  • Maintenance of all deal pipelines

Requirements

The requirements include:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent
  • CIPS or other professional procurement/purchasing qualification desirable
  • Several years of experience in relevant expenditure categories in a blue-chip environment with a proven track record of success in managing commercial and contractual activities
  • Experience in developing and maintaining strategic category-wide plans and initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Portfolio analysis and subsequent provision of benefits
  • Success in influencing the procurement strategy for individual projects
  • Conducting internal/external analyses, competitive bidding, and negotiations for regional and global agreements with a range of values and complexities
  • Negotiation and value extraction from established suppliers
  • Excellent knowledge of software contracts and licenses
  • Knowledge of the supply market, supplier characteristics, and expected trends at the geographic and global levels
