Senior Associate - AI/ML Engineer

Northern Trust is seeking an experienced Associate AI/ML Engineer focused on developing and implementing artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team and will collaborate on the development of scalable AI applications and solutions.

Tasks

As a member of the team, you will be expected to:
  • Assist in the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML models and solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and data scientists to collect, clean, and process data for AI model training.
  • Contribute to the development of robust and scalable AI applications using Python and relevant AI/ML frameworks.
  • Participate in testing, debugging, and validating AI solutions to ensure accuracy and performance.
  • Help design and monitor deployed AI solutions, identify problems, and solve them as they arise.
  • Learn and apply OOps, LLOps, and LLMs best practices for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of AI solutions.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and data scientists to collect, clean, and process data for AI model training.
  • Stay up to date with the latest AI/ML technologies and Azure AI services through continuous learning and training.
  • Implement and optimize AI algorithms and solutions under supervision.

Requirements

To be successful, you should:
  • Possess Python development skills with standard development environments.
  • Master DevOps, including CI/CD techniques and tools such as Github and APIs.
  • Have a good foundation in data science and coursework (desirable).
  • Have a good understanding of generative AI and LLM models and principles.
  • Have a good understanding of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).
  • Have a basic understanding of cloud infrastructure.
A degree in computer science is required. A degree in data science or equivalent graduate education is preferred.
