Senior Associate, MS Power BI Developer
Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Associate MS Power BI Developer for the Fixed Income Servicing department, with 3–5 years of experience developing dashboards and KPIs. The role requires advanced knowledge of Power BI, SQL, and Excel, as well as the ability to prepare complex data analyses for management.
Tasks
- Provision of data analytics, technology, process development, and risk insights
- Standard Operating Procedures by Technology and Business
- Conducting critical reviews for the development and maintenance of new reports
- Identifying patterns, trends, and risks to improve reporting to management
- Establishment of effective internal controls and monitoring to ensure integrity
- Developing meaningful, understandable user requirements for testing
- Development of financial, operational, and strategic planning dashboards for management
- Development and management of various key performance indicators (KPIs) for the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of business performance
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint
- Advanced skills in writing and optimizing SQL queries for large, unstructured datasets
- Experience with Power BI
- Experience with Power Automate/Flows
- Experience with Power Apps
- Self-employed worker who can work independently
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, economics, business, or information systems
- At least 3–5 years of experience in Power BI query development and dashboard creation
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to present data analyses in an easy-to-understand format
- Ability to create simple and concise visualizations of complex data
- Proven experience in data management and data governance
- Experience in business analysis and knowledge of Jira
- Proven ability to effectively and intelligently break down complex processes and business logic in order to clearly understand how things work from a business perspective
- Excellent oral and written communication skills that demonstrate critical and analytical thinking
- Self-motivated and driven
- Knowledge of the security classification systems used by federal and state authorities is required
- Maintaining the ability to reconcile is required
- A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
