Senior Associate, Software Engineering

Northern Trust is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Chicago to design, develop, and maintain software applications. The position requires at least two years of experience in full-stack development, cloud architectures, and relevant technologies such as Spring Boot and Angular.

Tasks

  • Design, management, and development of software applications and solutions
  • Defining Technical System Requirements for Complex Data Processing, Integration, and Development Projects
  • Collaborating with users across different functions to analyze business requirements and develop user-friendly software applications
  • Testing and maintaining computer programs, including debugging
  • Conducting feasibility studies and drafting system requirements for complex processes and projects
  • Conducting strategic planning and establishing long-term direction for the use and improvement of technology, as well as providing technical support

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, information technology, or a related STEM field
  • 2 years of experience in software design, development, testing, and implementation, or in business systems
  • Or at least 2 years of experience analyzing functional and technical requirements
  • 2 years of experience in creating test plans and unit tests
  • 2 years of experience in troubleshooting and cloud migration deployment
  • 2 years of experience in REST API development and microservice architecture, Spring Boot, and Spring Security
  • 2 years of experience in full-stack development
  • 2 years of experience with front-end user interface technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Angular JS)
  • 2 years of experience in designing and building cloud-native applications
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without the need for an employer-sponsored visa, either now or in the future
