Senior Business Systems Analyst
The Senior Business Systems Analyst acts as an interface between business partners and technicians, translating business requirements into technical solution concepts. The analyst is responsible for collecting, evaluating, documenting, and communicating business requirements during the development of enterprise applications.
Tasks
As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, the incumbent establishes an effective link between business partners and technical staff by translating business requirements into technical solution concepts and specifications. The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, evaluating, understanding, documenting, and communicating business requirements involved in the development of new or modification and ongoing support of existing enterprise business applications.Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete project assignments in research, analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation of systems.
- Complete assignments on time and meet operational and performance requirements.
- Interact with business users to gather and review business requirements through formal and informal meetings.
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements, test plans, and training materials used in formal and informal training sessions.
- Formulate and define system scope and objectives, develop procedures for solving complex problems, taking into account device capacities and limitations.
- Ask probing questions to gain a complete understanding of the scope and magnitude of the need and to assess the effort involved.
- Organize review meetings with the business sponsor, other stakeholders, and IT development.
- Actively participate in the creation of project estimates, cost-benefit analyses, and work plans, track progress, and adjust the approach to meet commitments.
- Create excellent, thorough design and development documentation. Prepare technical documentation in accordance with SDLC methodology.
- Create detailed specifications for programming.
- Very hands-on in the creation of data-driven business applications.
- Run test cases, find and document (in an error database) problems, errors, or other issues affecting the systems.
- Actively participate in creating integration system tests and assist users in executing the UAT cycle by documenting solutions in a bug tracking tool.
- Interact with business users to collect and analyze production errors and collaborate with the product vendor on production support and new development activities.
- Maintain banking applications in production and support all tasks necessary to resolve production issues in a timely manner.
- Support the change management process by documenting requests, assessing the criticality of changes to the business, and evaluating the impact on project commitments.
- Ensure that the performance and quality of products meet established company standards, policies, specifications, and customer requirements by implementing, monitoring, and maintaining formal, structured testing programs, policies, processes, procedures, and controls.
- Provide proven, up-to-date consulting services for internal recipients and other system employees.
