Tasks

• Integration of requirements from business units
• Executes projects as project manager
• Understands technology selection decision processes such as capacity, response time, data warehousing, customer communication, etc.
• Evaluates and selects from existing and new technologies those that best fit the business or project requirements
• Works with business and principal solution enterprise architects to ensure the solution meets the strategic direction and intent of the organization
• Promotes the exchange of specialist knowledge through presentations, documentation, etc.
• Serves as a functional lead by applying technical expertise and knowledge to ensure efficient and effective application architectures
• Advises technology and business partners to evaluate and recommend techniques, practices and technologies to ensure efficient, resilient and effective application architectures
• Performs complex problem solving involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous problems
• Demonstrates a balanced, cross-functional perspective that affects the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
• Develops, implements and manages programs within functional areas for efficiency, productivity and effectiveness
• Provides leadership and guidance to employees, fosters an environment that promotes employee involvement, teamwork and communication
• Participates in the development of new and ongoing supplier relationships

Requirements

• A degree in computer science and/or a related field is required (including at least 14 years of professional experience in information systems development and solution/technical architecture)
• Ideal candidate should have experience in the financial services industry
• Experience with payment systems and familiarity with payment processing (life cycle and workflows)
• Experience in the integration of solutions with various payment systems
• Familiarity with ISO20022 and high-value and low-value payment architecture

Desired experience and knowledge

• 2+ years of experience in the following areas is an advantage:
• Understanding and familiarity with event-driven concepts and frameworks
• Understanding and familiarity with cloud and microservice-based solution patterns
• Software development lifecycle methodologies including Agile and Scrum
• Relational and non-SG, distributed experiences
• Previous experience with payment, IDA, cash management and liquidity management solutions from one or more of the following vendors is preferred:
• ACI
• Oracle
• SAP
• Temenos
• FISERV

Knowledge

• Deep knowledge of applications or infrastructure system architecture, usually with experience in multiple system technologies
• Excellent consultative and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, IT management and staff
• Strong project management skills and a strong analytical ability
• Knowledge of several high-level languages and technologies is required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
• Analytical ability, strong judgment and management skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and IT management and staff
• Very flexible and adaptable to change
• Leadership and organizational skills are required to shape the architectural evolution of the business unit
