Sr Lead, Cyber Risk

The Senior Lead Cyber Risk is responsible for assessing and mitigating cyber risks at Northern Trust and is expected to act as a technical expert in implementing security measures and managing staff. The position requires a high level of expertise in IT security and the ability to solve complex problems.

Job description

Tasks

  • Provides technical expertise and support to client, IT management and staff in risk assessments. Recommends system modifications to reduce user problems
  • Identifies, evaluates, conducts, schedules and leads technical analyses functions to ensure all applicable IS security requirements are met
  • Participates in the evaluation, development, implementation, communication, monitoring and maintenance of information technology security policies and procedures
  • Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication
  • Kept abreast on the direction of emerging industry standards
  • Experienced, functional expert with technical and/or business knowledge and functional expertise
  • Carries out involving multiple disciplines and/or ambiguous issues
  • Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to help improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
  • Strategic in developing, implementing and administering programs within functional areas

Requirements

Knowledge

  • Is a technical expert with in-depth knowledge in area of expertise and strong knowledge of other areas.
  • Requires excellent analytical ability, consultative and communication skills, strong judgment and the ability to work effectively with client, IT management and staff, vendors and consultants.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change.

Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and technical experience in the security aspects of multiple platforms, operating systems, software, communications and network protocols or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
