Sr Lead Developer

The Sr Lead Developer is responsible for the management and development of risk management data products at Northern Trust. The position involves ensuring data integrity, accuracy and security and working with global teams to develop solutions.

Tasks

  • Service as a data custodian for risk reporting data to ensure that data integrity, accuracy and security standards are met.
  • Development, management and maintenance of data extractions, translations, enrichments and production of required data products for corporate users.
  • Collaborate with teams in global locations to design and develop solutions that meet business needs.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and product owners to support data roadmap and capabilities that support business use cases.
  • Ensure that data products are optimized for risk reporting to support business users in monitoring, assessing, reporting and taking action against potential risks.
  • Implementation and monitoring of processes to ensure the quality, completeness and reliability of data throughout its lifecycle.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to optimize data workflows and quality controls to increase efficiency and reduce manual work.
  • Development and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for all data products, processes and standards.
  • Support of corporate standards and initiatives for data management.
  • Support for audit requests and inquiries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, information systems or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data analysis, data management or similar roles.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with GRC systems and data structures. Preferred 5+ years of experience with Archer, Fusion, ServiceNow and other GRC platform data structures.
  • 7+ years of experience with cloud technologies, including Azure, Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Experience creating data products, preferably for risk data products for end applications such as Power BI or similar analytics/BI platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles and security best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills in data, data lineage, data consumption, etc.
  • Hyper-focused on outcomes and goals to ensure work is meaningful and aligned to use cases.
  • Independent and self-driven, with the ability to collaborate with teams globally. Ability to work outside of regular working hours to interact with global stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, with concise and clear explanations of complex technical concepts.
