Senior Trader

The Senior Trader is responsible for executing trade orders and overseeing trading processes at Itaú Private Bank, ensuring that all trades are processed accurately and efficiently. The Senior Trader must have extensive knowledge of financial markets and products, as well as strong communication and organizational skills.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Receiving and processing buy orders from registered representatives of the broker-dealer, clients, and/or their third-party providers, as well as verifying the accuracy of the information in the orders.
  • Daily review of trade execution reports.
  • Ensuring that trading procedures are carried out properly and that compliance guidelines are followed.
  • Processing a high volume of complex trades while minimizing the company's financial risk.
  • Monitoring the relationship between the trading desk and our clearing broker to ensure that we receive "best execution" for all trades.
  • All transactions are processed through our clearing broker's system.
  • Providing market information to our internal and external clients, tailored to their needs.
  • Responsibility for post-trade procedures, including entering transactions into the system and assisting the securities processing unit as needed to ensure efficient trade settlement.
  • Providing customers with information about investments, securities, and other financial services.
  • Answering complex questions about trades from management, customers, sales representatives, and company employees.
  • Stay up to date on changes in the industry and share your knowledge with the team and department.
  • Compliance with anti-money laundering and bank secrecy laws, as well as Itaú’s relevant policies and procedures.
  • Proactively develop business opportunities during all customer interactions to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Performing other tasks that are necessary or assigned.

Requirements

  • Academic degree in business or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • Licenses: Series 7 is required; Series 57 is preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in the securities industry
  • Systems/Applications: MS Office, Bloomberg, Olympic, NETX360
  • Skills: Effective communication, customer focus, organizational skills, technical and functional expertise, sound business judgment, keyboard and data entry skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and a team player.
  • Senior-level experience: Brokerage and banking products (fixed income, equities, options, mutual funds, derivatives, foreign exchange, futures, and structured products)
  • A strong understanding of current regulatory requirements for broker-dealers and banking regulations.
  • A self-motivated team player with strong communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Fluency in Portuguese is a plus.
