Staff Engineer

Job Description

This position is a hands-on, senior technical leadership role with direct responsibility for architectural decisions, engineering standards, and operational reliability. The role requires close collaboration with business, engineering, infrastructure, security, and compliance teams and serves as a technical reference point in the automation environment.

The most important tasks include:

• Leading the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure automation solutions to reduce manual effort and operational risks.
• Technical responsibility for automation platforms and services to ensure strong engineering standards, clean architecture, and long-term sustainability.
• Development and advancement of microservices, event-driven and API-based architectures, with mandatory use of containers.
• Collaborate with business, engineering, infrastructure, security, and compliance teams to identify automation opportunities and deliver production-ready solutions.
• Creation, operation, and optimization of cloud-native services on AWS, applying best practices in reliability, observability, and security.
• Leading the introduction and further development of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to standardize environments and automate deployments.
• Defining, implementing, and improving CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, deployment, and operations processes.
• Ensuring operational excellence, including monitoring, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of existing automation.
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, standards, runbooks, and operating instructions.
• Technical mentoring and support for senior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

The following qualifications are required:

• Strong, practical experience with .NET (C#) in enterprise environments.
• Proven expertise in the design and consumption of RESTful APIs.
• Ability to write clean, testable, reusable, and maintainable code using sound engineering principles.

Cloud & AWS

The following qualifications are required:

• Extensive, hands-on experience with AWS, including EC2, Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, and/or AWS CDK.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native architecture, security, and operational best practices.

The following qualifications are required:

• Mandatory, hands-on experience with containerization using Docker.
• Practical experience with container orchestration, preferably ECS and/or Kubernetes.
• Proven ability to design, deploy, and operate container-based architectures.

DevOps & Automation

The following qualifications are required:

• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, or equivalent).
• Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
