**Strategic Architecture Lead – Custody (80-100%)**

About the role

We are seeking a Strategic Architecture Lead for the custody and DeFi areas to join our Enterprise Architecture team.

Main tasks

• Act as a technical stakeholder within the Custody Value Stream Leadership Team, working closely with business owners and product managers to set delivery priorities.
• Work with business owners and project managers to define and continuously develop the delivery roadmap for the custody value stream.
• Shape and maintain the strategic enterprise architecture, ensuring that it aligns with business objectives and meets scalability, maintainability, and security requirements, while securing the long-term technical direction of the custody value stream.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture and security best practices, working closely with enterprise architecture and CISO teams to ensure adherence to established standards.
• Collaborate with tech leads to move the platform toward its target state, ensuring that it aligns with the strategic enterprise architecture.
• Mentor team members and actively participate in important ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and steering committees, for the teams under your supervision.
• Draft, document, and communicate technical and architectural decisions as well as roadmap updates to all relevant stakeholders.

Ideal candidate

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) with 10+ years of experience in an engineering / architecture / technical management role.
• Solid understanding of architectural patterns, modern tech stacks and security.
• Proven experience in the design and implementation of key business and technical initiatives.
• In-depth and practical knowledge of Typescript (NestJS) or Java 21.
• Managing day-to-day interactions with business users and technology teams.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to make mature judgments.
• Willingness to mentor people and teams and participate directly in coding when required.
• Strong desire to continue learning.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to support the business owner(s) in defining a product roadmap and the future of the Sygnum custody business.

Desired experience

• Excellent experience in communicating across teams, geographies, and functions.
• Solid understanding of cryptography and blockchain concepts, digital asset security and key management best practices (HSMs, Trusted Execution Environment, etc.)
