Strategic Planning Officer

The Strategic Planning Officer will join the Strategy & Corporate Development team in Lugano and will help develop an integrated planning, reporting, and performance review process to support value-driven business decisions. The incumbent will act as a business partner and a critical evaluator of business performance, focusing on providing value-enhancing decision support through granular analysis of the drivers of performance.

Job Description

The Strategic Planning Officer will be part of the Strategy & Corporate Development team in Lugano and will help lead an integrated planning, reporting, and performance review process to facilitate value-driven business decisions. In their role as a business partner and challenger of business performance, they will focus on providing value-driven decision support through granular analysis of the drivers of performance and by delivering insights into value-enhancement levers.

Main tasks

  • Business Analyst and Power User of MI Data
  • Preparation and compilation of presentations for senior management
  • Active role in performance reviews
  • Development and maintenance of data models for analysis and forecasting
  • Active collaboration with the Planning and Controlling unit during the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Develop strong relationships with business leaders and financial controllers to establish a role as a business partner
  • Development of recurring benchmark analyses in collaboration with external consultants
  • Lead counsel on corporate development projects and strategic initiatives, including M&A transactions

Requirements

  • Professional experience in the financial services industry, particularly in corporate finance
  • Ability to understand large datasets and experience with data modeling to provide accurate data analyses
  • Advanced user of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint; knowledge of Excel macros, VBA, Python, and Power BI is a plus
  • A quick learner, precise and efficient
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to acquire new knowledge and skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to unpredictable demands
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders at all levels
  • Fluent in English and fluent in Italian
