Strategy & Business Development Project Manager

The Strategy & Business Development Project Manager is responsible for planning, managing and leading strategic projects at Julius Baer to ensure the competitiveness of the product offering. The employee works closely with various departments and managers to understand client needs and develop solutions.

Job description

Tasks

  • Planning, managing and leading strategic projects from initiation to completion to ensure consistency with strategy, purpose and objectives
  • Project management and implementation of local, regional, global and strategic initiatives with a holistic view to ensure that all relevant aspects are considered
  • Focus on initiatives to keep the product offering for Global Products & Solutions (GPS) competitive and relevant
  • Regular dialog with Investment Advisors, Senior Management and Product Specialists to understand client needs and requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various functions within the bank to define the overall scope, objectives, deliverables and timelines for initiatives
  • Coordination and implementation of change management activities
  • Build effective relationships across the banking sector to gain knowledge of the business and its latest products and services

Personnel management

  • Contribute to strengthening team spirit and fostering a collaborative working environment in a global environment
  • Build highly effective relationships with global, regional and local stakeholders across various banking functions

Customer management (internal & external)

  • Independently lead end-to-end management/implementation of local, regional, global and strategic initiatives and contribute to all phases of projects
  • Determination of the overall scope, objectives, results and timetables in coordination with the business and in consultation with management
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders across the banking division to identify and analyze business requirements
  • Ensuring regular and effective communication with relevant stakeholders and management
  • Identification of opportunities to improve functional efficiency and productivity

Regulatory responsibilities and/or risk management

  • Adherence to all legal, regulatory and compliance standards/requirements
  • Adherence to the standards and expectations set out in the relevant user manuals and guidelines
  • Demonstration of appropriate values and behavior

Requirements

Personal & social

  • Working independently in a global environment and effectively managing internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds

Professional & technical

  • At least 7 years of relevant wealth management experience with a strong understanding of financial markets and products
  • Relevant higher education and professional background
  • Strong commercial judgment and business acumen
  • Familiarity with agile project methods and tools
  • Strong understanding of IT and strong command of MS Office applications
  • Strong verbal communication and writing skills

Regulatory

  • Familiarity with local regulatory expectations and requirements
  • Understanding of cross-border rules and regulations
  • Demonstrate risk awareness as a team, balanced with commercial judgment and business acumen
