Stress Testing Associate

The Stress Testing Associate at Nomura in London is responsible for developing and implementing stress testing models related to market and counterparty credit risk. The role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of Monte Carlo techniques and Python, as well as experience in risk management.

Tasks

  • Closer collaboration with the Stress Testing Group (STG) and Model Validation as part of the Stress Testing Framework.
  • Development and regular updating of prototype models in the area of counterparty credit risk.
  • Implementation of stress testing models into strategic risk reporting (including technical documentation).
  • Role as a subject matter expert for the stress testing model group/function and as the primary point of contact for compliance matters.
  • Work on the stress testing guidelines and conduct company-wide analyses.
  • Development of strategic tools for stress testing models using Python and other programming languages.
  • Participation in the periodic inspection and calibration of models.
  • Provide the necessary support to the Model Validation Group and the audit team as changes occur on an ongoing basis.
  • Compliance with all governance requirements, as set forth in the relevant policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience in market risk or credit risk, with a strong understanding of risk management.
  • A very good understanding and mastery of mathematical concepts.
  • Knowledge of Monte Carlo methods.
  • Ability to present complex concepts in a simple and engaging manner, both in writing and when communicating with internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
  • Strong analytical skills – Comfortable in a technical role that involves independent problem-solving and analytical skills.
