Structured Products Advisor

The Structured Products Advisor at Julius Baer plays a key role in developing and executing the structured products business in the Middle East. The position requires a deep understanding of financial products, strong analytical skills, and experience in the sales or advisory industry.

Tasks

- Work closely with investment advisors and relationship managers in Dubai, Bahrain, and Abu Dhabi to identify opportunities for revenue growth and risk management. - Drive cross-selling of SP solutions tailored to client portfolios and market conditions. - Support relationship managers in structuring customized hedging, investment, and liquidity strategies using EQ and FI instruments to increase market share and deepen client relationships. - Monitor and report on SP-related revenue performance by location and provide guidance; deliver actionable insights for improvement.

Product and Idea Coordination

- Serve as a regional expert on high-potential trading ideas originating from Asia and Switzerland, and adapt them to suit the preferences of customers in the Middle East and the local regulatory environment. - Present curated market ideas and product variations during the morning briefing in the Middle East and at Middle East Group leadership meetings to ensure they align with local demand and compliance standards. - Collaborate with product development and trading departments worldwide to personalize offerings that are relevant to regional client behavior (e.g., local access to the Middle East market, Shariah-compliant products, etc.).

Stakeholder Engagement and Thought Leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field; advanced professional certifications (CFA, CAIA, FRM) are highly desirable.
  • At least 8–10 years of experience in retail banking, trading, or advisory services within private banking or wealth management, preferably with experience serving ultra-high-net-worth clients.
  • A deep understanding of EQ (OTC derivatives—including AC/DC and OTC strategies—and correlation products such as FCN and others), minimum payout (or capital-protected) promissory notes, as well as a strong understanding of fixed-income products (related to interest rates or credit, such as credit-linked notes).
  • Previous experience working in or managing GCC markets is preferred; familiarity with local regulations (e.g., SCA guidelines) and cultural nuances is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters, and CRM systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
