Structured Products and Derivatives Implementation Lead

The Structured Products and Derivatives Implementation Lead is responsible for implementing and maintaining sustainable products to meet customer needs, working closely with product managers, front representatives, and senior management. The role encompasses product management, stakeholder management, and people management to optimize products and services for customers.

Tasks

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining sustainable products (services, applications, or tools) that meet customer needs throughout the product lifecycle, under the direction of the Product Manager (PM).
  • Collaborate with various front-line representatives and senior management to stay informed about customer needs and requirements
  • Building and maintaining relationships within the bank to maintain and improve knowledge of the business and the latest products and services

Key tasks and responsibilities

Personnel management

  • Contribute to strengthening team spirit and promoting a collaborative working environment
  • Motivation and feedback to other team members to improve overall performance

Stakeholder management

  • Collaborate with product managers and business owners to understand customer and market needs and align the product roadmap with the bank's overall strategy
  • Development of cases and definition of product features based on input from business owners and representatives
  • Continuous prioritization of features/stories with business owners based on business cases and implementation costs
  • Understanding the system implications of the new product and identifying obstacles and dependencies with other functions

Product management

  • Understanding the front-to-back flow of product issuance
  • Collaboration with various risk functions to identify, assess and mitigate potential risks of the new product
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., IT, accounting, operations, risk management) to understand the system implications of the new product
  • Preparation and maintenance of documentation in connection with the implementation of new products
  • Participation in testing and quality assurance processes, creation of test protocols, documentation of test results, and collection of sign-offs for test cases
  • Ensuring that the new product is ready for distribution (i.e., customer and product suitability checks)
  • Continuous evaluation and improvement of the process, identification of areas for efficiency gains, and implementation of best practices

Regulatory responsibilities and/or risk management

  • Compliance with all legal, regulatory, and compliance standards/requirements when implementing products
  • Demonstration of appropriate values and conduct (including, but not limited to, standards of honesty and integrity, care and diligence, fair treatment of customers, management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, appropriate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations)

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of financial products, especially structured products and derivatives across various asset classes, particularly the manufacturing flow of such products
  • Experience in advisory and sales processes for private and institutional clients
  • Experience in agile project methods and frameworks (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experience managing product deliveries across multiple work streams with varying schedules, priorities, and complexities
  • Strong ability to deal with uncertainty, especially with new products where pilot launches may require some manual processes
  • Strong commercial judgment, business acumen and broad understanding of financial markets and products
  • IT savvy and ability to facilitate basic programming or quickly understand the IT landscape of processes and systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Regulatory requirements

  • Familiarity with regulatory expectations and requirements in Singapore and Hong Kong
