System Architect
The System Architect at Julius Baer will support the company's IT infrastructure by creating architectural plans and technical guidelines to drive the company's digital transformation. To do this, the candidate needs comprehensive knowledge of the private banking and asset management industry, as well as experience in designing enterprise systems.
Job description
The primary objective of the System Architect is to work with the IT Asia Architecture team to provide architecture, design, and technical guidelines to enable the bank's digital transformation. Candidates must have a good understanding of private banking/asset management processes, particularly in the areas of finance and credit.Tasks
- Creation of architectural plans, architectural N-H-S, and trade-offs
- Supporting architecture governance to manage architecture debt, architecture standards, and guidelines
- Manage and execute proof-of-concepts for new technologies and tools required to support business initiatives
- Collaboration and contribution to the bank's IT architecture strategy through cooperation within the Architecture COE
- Provision of technical consulting for project teams throughout the entire software development life cycle
Regulatory responsibilities and risk management
- Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviors, including but not limited to standards of honesty and integrity, diligence and conscientiousness, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, appropriate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Professional and technical requirements
- Degree in engineering or computer science (bachelor's/master's)
- 10+ years of experience in the design and implementation of enterprise systems in the banking sector, preferably private banking/asset management
- Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachmann
- Strong collaboration skills across hierarchical levels and organizational boundaries
- Very good knowledge and experience in modern web technologies
- Proficiency in enterprise technologies such as Java EE, Spring Boot, databases such as Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, integration technologies such as IBM MQ, IBM Integration Bus, event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka
- Experience in implementing cloud-native applications
- Experience in implementing DevOps principles within the organization
- Experience in the implementation of machine learning-based solutions is an advantage
