System Engineer (80% - 100%)

Job description

The Big Data team is responsible for implementing and operating big data platforms in the IT infrastructure. The place of work is Zurich.

Your contribution

Your responsibilities include:

• Planning, evaluation, procurement, design, and implementation of big data platforms in the role of system engineer (SE)/site reliability engineer (SRE).
• Operation of on-premises big data environments consisting of Cloudera data platforms, LJM platforms, the log management stack, and event streaming.
• Performing on-call duties at the 2nd level.

Your knowledge and experience

For this position, you will need:

• Degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar field (university/university of applied sciences/ETH).
• Experience with Red Hat Linux, OpenShift, big data tools (Hadoop Stack, Flink, Kafka).
• Programming experience: Python, Bash, DevOps and configuration management tools (Ansible, Git).
• Business fluent in German or French as well as English.
