Systems Engineer - Application Operations (Full-Time) (f/m/d)
The Julius Baer Group is seeking a System Engineer - Application Operations to ensure the smooth operation of core banking applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in application support as well as knowledge of Linux, Windows, and Java application servers. The successful candidate will be part of a team focused on the operational support of applications and the optimization of processes.
Tasks
- Ensure the smooth operation of core banking applications, with a focus on application management
- Take on periodic on-call duties (weekly 24/7 rotation)
- Manage change requests and ensure that application-related processes are executed correctly.
- Participate in periodic release activities, including weekend deployments
- Contribute to projects related to the operational aspects of existing or newly integrated applications
- Perform regular data cleansing and system maintenance
- Drive process optimization and automation of recurring tasks, including handover to L1 (Control Center)
- Maintain and update the documentation and knowledge base for application operations
- Do you offer support for batch job scheduling and monitoring (e.g., Automic AWA, Control-M, or similar tools)?
Requirements
- Completed IT education (degree in computer science or equivalent IT-related certification)
- At least 2 years of professional experience in application support
- Strong Linux skills (shell scripting is an advantage)
- Solid understanding of Windows operating systems at the server level
- Familiarity with Java application servers, databases, and workload automation tools (AWA experience is a plus)
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Good written and spoken English skills
