System Engineer - Infrastructure Automation (Full-Time)
The Julius Baer Group is seeking a System Engineer – Infrastructure Automation to lead and implement the development and deployment of automation solutions for the IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience developing automation solutions using vRealize (Aria) Automation, as well as knowledge of Kubernetes, cloud computing, and DevOps.
Tasks
The tasks include:- Lead the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions using vRealize (Aria) Automation and/or Crossplane to streamline IT processes and improve efficiency
- Development and maintenance of vRealize (Aria) Orchestrator workflows, as well as development of Crossplane providers and features using Golang and the Kubernetes Operator pattern
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical strategies
- Provide technical leadership and expertise to the team and contribute to the development of technical roadmaps and strategic plans
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to vRealize Automation and orchestration, and recommending improvements
- Staying up to date with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing, virtualization, and automation, and applying this knowledge to continuously improve our automation solutions
- Participation in the development of technical documentation, including design documents, implementation guides, and operating procedures
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards, best practices, and organizational policies
Requirements
The requirements include:- At least 3 years of experience in the design, implementation, and management of automation solutions using vRealize (Aria) Automation, with a focus on large enterprise environments
- At least 2 years of experience in developing and operating Kubernetes operators, ideally using Go and the Crossplane framework for deploying and continuously reconfiguring resources
- Expert knowledge of Kubernetes and the cloud-native computing ecosystem
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including Windows, Linux, Active Directory, Cisco technologies, etc.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing, virtualization, and automation technologies, including VMware vSphere, vCenter, and NSX
- Strong understanding of software development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tools
- Strong understanding of IT service management frameworks such as ITIL and experience with agile development methods and version control systems such as Git
- Experience with Go and scripting languages such as JavaScript, PowerShell, or Python
- Proven experience in leading technical projects and teams, with experience managing multiple stakeholders and suppliers
