System Engineer Telecom Operation 100% (f/m/d)

The System Engineer Telecom Operation is responsible for the reliable operation of critical infrastructure applications in a global environment and provides second-level application support. The role includes coordinating incident managers, application owners, and business partners, as well as participating in projects to optimize operational processes.

Tasks

  • Root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution within defined SLA targets
  • Central coordination point between incident managers, application owners, third-level support teams, and business partners during ongoing events or outages
  • Management and administration of change requests (BFCs) related to telecommunications applications, including proper documentation, risk assessment, approvals, and implementation in accordance with ITIL change management processes
  • Participation in planned system releases, patch deployments, and disaster recovery (DR) exercises, which may require involvement on weekends or outside of regular working hours
  • Involvement in projects related to operational aspects for existing or newly integrated applications or infrastructure components
  • Regular data cleansing of the systems
  • Identification of opportunities for process optimization and automation of recurring manual activities to improve efficiency and reduce error rates
  • Maintenance and continuous updating of operating instructions, runbooks, and knowledge articles in the company's service management platform (e.g., ServiceNow, Confluence)
  • Independent work with high precision and responsibility, demonstrating ownership of assigned systems and workflows

Requirements

  • Successfully completed tertiary education in computer science, information technology, or a recognized IT training/certification program
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in IT support, ideally in a large or international organization
  • Proven experience with Windows server administration; network fundamentals (TCP/IP; DNS)
  • Process-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
