The Tax Manager supports the Chief Tax Office EMEA in leading the tax governance and international tax team to ensure that tax risks are managed and compliance requirements are met. The Manager also advises external clients on tax matters and develops relationships with other departments and managers.

Tax Manager Client Tax Governance, GPB EMEA
Tasks
- Supporting external clients with inquiries about tax laws and their impact on financial products
- Direct responsibility for supporting the Chief Tax Office EMEA function
- Ensure that tax risks are identified and mitigated through a robust tax governance and international tax function
- Understanding and applying all technical tax laws within the scope of the role
- Development and maintenance of an effective risk management framework
- Advice on the interpretation of processes and procedures to ensure the effectiveness of withholding/accounting/reporting procedures under regulated and international tax regimes
- Develop and maintain relationships with other departments and management to communicate positions/proposals
- Technical advice and support for tax-related positions
- Individual advice, training and regulatory and international tax support for the business
- Coordination of internal procedures in connection with taxes and insurance
- Monitoring developments in local tax laws and supporting their implementation
Requirements
- Professional accounting or relevant school qualification; tax trainee
- Experience: Graduate with A-Levels, B-Sc. Banking Tax, ACCA, CIMA, STC, SGM/MBR within a financial institution and knowledge of general UK and non-EU tax principles preferred
- Good understanding of the financial planning industry and types of clients such as wealth and capital
- Flexible, proactive and collaborative mindset to fulfill the objectives of the steering function
- Highly respected and experienced advice on the implementation and tracking of administrative processes
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Direct experience in analysis and problem solving
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- PC skills, including Word, Excel and all internet search engines
- Fluent in English; French and/or other languages would be an advantage
