TAX MANAGER

Leonteq is looking for an experienced Tax Manager to manage direct and indirect tax matters in Zurich. The position includes the coordination of internal and external stakeholders as well as the monitoring and implementation of new tax regulations.

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join our dynamic organization in the heart of Zurich. The role will focus on managing our group's direct and indirect tax affairs across multiple jurisdictions.

Tasks

  • Manage the Group's tax affairs globally and in conjunction with advisors and local accountants, including tax compliance coordination, with a focus on:
    • VAT/USt
    • Withholding taxes
    • Financial transaction taxes and stamp duties
    • Tax audits and tax disputes in Switzerland and abroad
  • Regular support for the financial accounting and reporting department:
    • Posting of tax groups and tax accounting (IFRS and local)
    • Contribution to the development of the Group's tax rates
    • Carrying out tax commission calculations
  • Contribution to projects on tax-related topics, including implementation of corresponding processes
  • Monitoring and implementation of new tax regulations
  • Management of operational tax matters such as:
    • FATCA/CRS/DAC6/CbCR/QI/AEOI
    • US/EU reporting
    • Annual tax reports for Activity Mandate Consolidated (AMCs) and Tracker Certificates
    • Withholding tax reporting/restrictions
    • Tax queries on structured products
    • Preparation of tax returns for new investment structures
  • Management of parts of the consultant and service provider network worldwide

Requirements

  • Diploma as a Swiss tax specialist or equivalent (e.g. LLM in Swiss and International Tax Law)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, with a focus on Swiss tax law in the financial industry
  • Good understanding of accounting and reporting systems
  • University degree in business administration, economics or law
  • Integrative and collaborative personality with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Good written and verbal communication in English and German, other languages are a plus
  • Technically adept, highly skilled in Excel and data analysis
