Team Head, LATAM & Iberia Investment Advisory, based in Zurich, full-time (f/m/d)

Tasks

As Team Head of LATAM & Iberia Investment Advisory, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of investment advisors. Your responsibilities include:
  • Team leadership, mentoring, and development
  • Client coverage and fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and exceptional client service
  • Defining performance goals, monitoring key performance indicators, and implementing structured feedback mechanisms
  • Collaboration with HR and GPS leadership on recruitment, succession planning, and capacity-building initiatives

Strategic Investment Consulting

You are responsible for providing strategic investment advice to high-net-worth clients and must:
  • Ensure thorough documentation and clear communication
  • Act as a trusted authority figure in high-risk client interactions
  • Partnering with relationship managers during client meetings, transition planning, and investment rationalization

Client Engagement and Executive Presence

You must:
  • Act as a trusted authority figure in high-risk client interactions
  • Partnering with relationship managers during client meetings, transition planning, and investment rationalization
  • Travel regularly to key LATAM and Iberia hubs and collaborate with local coverage teams

Regional Insight and Thought Leadership

You must:
  • Promote regional expertise within Julius Baer and regularly share market commentary, strategic insights, and investment ideas
  • Work closely with the research department and regional desks to define investment views and structured financial models
  • Participate in company-wide initiatives to improve the customer journey for Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking customers

Governance, Risk, and Operational Excellence

You must:
  • Monitor end-to-end trade execution and transaction management to ensure compliance with all internal controls, systems, and relevant regulatory standards
  • Work closely with Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Tax Audit to maintain a robust governance framework and minimize conduct risks
  • Establish standards and operating procedures within the team to ensure efficiency, scalability, and audit readiness

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced investment leader who combines strong financial expertise with genuine empathy for our client base in Latin America and Iberia.
  • Familiarity with the major economic hubs in Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish; proficiency in Portuguese is strongly preferred
  • Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken); German is a plus, but not required
  • Expert knowledge in a key asset class (equities, bonds, alternatives, hedge funds, private markets, and structured products)
