Team Head - Products & Services Compliance

The position of Team Head – Products & Services Compliance plays a central role within the compliance function at Bank Julius Baer Europe (BJE). The Team Head reports to the Head of Regulatory and Product & Services Compliance and is responsible for ensuring the Bank’s integrity and regulatory compliance.

Your challenge

The main tasks include:

• Leadership, mentoring, and development of a high-performing compliance team for product and service monitoring
• Ensuring full compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and supervisory expectations across all BJE entities
• Assumption of second line of defense mandates through independent, objective assessment and challenge of front-line functions

Regulatory advice and business partnership

The position also includes:

• Supporting business units, legal department, risk management, and product development with compliance aspects related to current and new regulations
• Proactively assess the impact of changing regulatory landscapes and translate them into manageable policies and controls
• Strategic contributions to cross-functional projects, including new product launches, market expansions, or system implementations that require compliance integration

Compliance framework and controls

Other responsibilities include:

• Development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a risk-based compliance monitoring framework
• Monitoring the implementation of the annual compliance control plan and ensuring the timely delivery and effective escalation of results
• Managing corrective measures in cooperation with initial contacts and monitoring progress toward resolution
• Preparation of comprehensive periodic and ad hoc reports for BJE management, the Head of Regulatory and Product & Services Compliance, the Chief Compliance Officer, and Group Compliance

Technical skills

Required skills include:

• Deep understanding of MiFID II, anti-fraud mechanisms, and tax compliance protocols
• Knowledge of using data analysis tools to identify patterns, support risk assessments, and improve monitoring efficiency
• Strong attention to detail, combined with pragmatic, solution-oriented thinking

Personal characteristics

Required qualifications are:

• Strong leadership presence with a proven ability to lead and motivate professional teams in a matrix organization
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including fluency in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus
• Ability to act independently under pressure while maintaining composure and sound judgment
• High ethical standards, personal integrity, and commitment to operational excellence
