Tech Lead, Developer Experience & Platform Engineering (80-100%)

About the role

Join our Platform Engineering team and transform how our engineers build, deploy, and scale software. In this role, you will lead the development of internal tools, pipelines, and developer experiences that directly impact product velocity across our engineering organization. You will balance hands-on technical leadership (70%) with team management (30%), driving both platform innovation and team growth.

Tasks

• Technical management:
  • Design and construction of internal platforms and CI/CD pipelines
  • Promoting the introduction of GenAI in all engineering teams through platform integration, tooling, and best practices
  • Responsibility for the platform roadmap - Balancing functional requirements, technical debt, and strategic initiatives
  • Creation of libraries, SDKs, CLIs, and frameworks that promote standardization of development and increase productivity
  • Promoting adoption through clear documentation, demos, and developer engagement
• Team leadership:
  • Leading a cross-functional team of software engineers and SREs - Conducting 1:1 meetings, goal setting, and career development
  • Lead the Backend Engineering Guild to coordinate standards across teams
  • Collaborate with engineering managers and product to prioritize platform investments
  • Promoting a culture of responsibility and continuous improvement

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in building services and libraries with Java (Quarkus) or Node.js (NestJS)
• 3+ years of experience in technical leadership across multiple teams
• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD
• Experience with AWS and developer productivity tooling
