Tech Lead, Front-End Platform

Tasks

• Lead the Frontend Platform Team: Set the technical direction, manage the team’s roadmap and priorities, and oversee daily delivery. Balance long-term platform investments with the immediate needs of the teams that depend on the platform.
• End-to-end responsibility for the front-end architecture: Make and lead architectural decisions regarding the NX monorepo (applications and custom libraries), including coordination with our enterprise architecture. Maintain consistency in the system as it grows, in line with the front-end applications that come with that scaling.
• Treat the platform as a product: Understand what front-end teams need, gather feedback, and shape the roadmap accordingly. Take responsibility for versioning and releasing shared libraries to ensure that changes are rolled out safely across all applications that use them.
• Enhancing observability and reliability: Improving how we monitor, measure, and understand our front-end applications in production—tracing, performance, and real-user-experience monitoring. Participating in incident analysis and driving root-cause analyses that lead to real solutions.
• Driving the Adoption of AI-Powered Development: As an early adopter of Claude Code, collaborate with front-end teams to establish practical workflows, measure impact, and set the guidelines for AI-powered development.
• Raising the bar for our development practices: defining testing strategies, driving front-end engineering excellence, maintaining consistency in component libraries across applications, and helping tech leads improve their standards.
• Empower the engineers around you: Mentor the team and the broader front-end organization in architecture, performance, and security-by-default practices. Pair with team members, conduct code reviews, and help tech leads raise their standards.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in designing and scaling front-end architecture, ideally using a monorepo (Nx or similar) that supports multiple applications and shared libraries.
• Deep front-end expertise within the team—setting the direction, driving the roadmap, and shaping the team while remaining hands-on.
• A strong understanding of front-end observability, performance, and secure development practices.
• Experience building reliable, maintainable front-end systems that multiple teams can build upon.
• Easily collaborate across team boundaries and balance platform priorities with the needs of the teams that depend on you.
• A desire to mentor others and openly share knowledge.
• Experience leading a platform or developer experience team.
• Experience in backend development (REST.js) and with identity providers (IDPs).
• Experience in mobile app development (React Native or similar).
• Experience in banking or in regulated environments.
