About the role

Sygnum is seeking a visionary Tech Lead to drive the next evolution of our proprietary tokenization platform - a key part of our mission to unlock the future of finance through blockchain technology. As the tokenization industry enters a crucial phase of real-world adoption, this role offers the opportunity to lead the integration of advanced smart contract capabilities and leading-edge solutions, shaping a platform at the forefront of digital asset tokenization. You will play a key role in the strategic transformation of a system that has already proven its value by scaling its architecture, improving interoperability and embedding it deeper into Sygnum's digital asset ecosystem.

Tasks

As a Tech Lead, you wear two hats: technical and managerial.

Technical tasks

• Lead a team of software engineers to develop and own state-of-the-art solutions.
• Continuously improve the quality and security of applications by actively managing the quality of systems.
• Actively participate in the development of new features and enhancements by writing and reviewing high quality, secure code with comprehensive test coverage.
• Collaborate with platform engineers to improve CI/CD pipelines and optimize release processes, leverage AI and automation to reduce cognitive load, improve quality and scale developer productivity.
• Collaborate with SRE engineers and solution architects to perfect application availability, resilience and observability.

Managerial tasks

• Support and guide software engineers through coaching and mentoring.
• Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team by driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work with product managers and stakeholders to plan new features and improvements.
• Facilitate blameless retrospectives and post-mortems to promote a culture of learning from mistakes.
• Cultivate a psychologically safe environment where every team member feels empowered to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the organization.

Requirements

This is a great opportunity for you if:

• You like to build scalable backend services based on our tech stack: Java/Quarkus and/or Node.js running on AWS.
• You are experienced in Kubernetes, Terraform and GitLab CI/CD.
• You have an understanding of microscopes, event-driven architecture and can implement functions with a focus on performance, fault tolerance and security.
• You have experience with RDBMS (ideally PostgreSQL).
• Previous experience with cryptocurrencies is preferred but not required.
• They are comfortable with taking over the entire development life cycle from the solution concept to the operation of the application in production.
• They enjoy both technical and personnel management work.
• You have a collaborative and growth-oriented attitude.
• You have previous experience in dealing with various stakeholders (business users, IT architecture, product managers, business analysts).
• You are enthusiastic about both greenfield and established (brownfield) projects.
