Technical Support Engineer

A Technical Support Engineer (also known as an Infrastructure Support Engineer) will join a global team of engineers at Man Group plc to provide day to day operational support and optimal performance of hardware and software. The role will focus on troubleshooting, software deployments and support for Windows, Mac, VOIP and mobile systems.

Job description

Tasks

  • Troubleshoot and manage issues with Windows, Mac, VOIP and mobile device inventory
  • 3rd and 2nd level support for Microsoft and Apple operating systems and Office applications
  • Software deployments with Microsoft Endpoint
  • Floor walking, desk visits and remote support as required
  • Service requests and problem management
  • Taking responsibility for resolving queries, troubleshooting, escalation to specialists if required
  • Long-term management of the service and asset lifecycle
  • Working with a wide range of technologies (hardware and software) under an IT service management model that meets defined service level agreements with internal business units, configuration and change management
  • Effective and efficient management of the general team queue and own queue, including prioritization and expectation management towards users
  • Promote service improvements over time to continuously improve quality and user satisfaction
  • Collaborate with service desk colleagues and local support teams to develop and improve the service catalog
  • Stage set / handover for effective provision of services and services
  • Ensuring that the relevant SLAs for IT services are adhered to

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in a similar position with a strong ability to support applications and environments
  • Experience with Windows, including SCCM
  • Advanced troubleshooting of Windows desktops
  • Experience with network troubleshooting and security
  • Some knowledge of VMWare (vSphere) or VMware products
  • Experience with desktop and laptop hardware
  • Experience with Windows 10/11 and Mac OS
  • Knowledge of the ITIL management framework
  • Deploying and supporting Apple Mac devices
  • Experience in personal services preferred, but not required
