Trade Operations Analyst

Purpose of the role

The Investment Operations department provides operational services to AHL, GLG, and Numeric fund managers to deliver performance across multiple asset classes. As a Trade Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring that all trades booked by these fund managers are accurate and complete, while maintaining strong risk management standards.

Trade confirmation and settlement

• Confirm and reconcile all trades within a reasonable time frame
• Inform internal teams about issues relevant to pre-approval
• Quickly resolve trade settlement issues
• Monitor unconfirmed and failed trades
• Failed securities transactions escalate and trigger
• Improve STP rates at custodian banks and prime brokers
• Perform daily reconciliations and make necessary corrections

Trade lifecycle and data management

• Trade changes, event processing, and reference data maintenance to ensure accurate representation of positions, profit and loss, and exposures in risk management systems
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations and related analyses to ensure data accuracy, quality, and integrity
• Continuous improvement of data quality and consistency
• Ensuring the integrity of security data across multiple systems
• Maintain integrity of all middle and back office data

Stakeholder management

• Central contact person for all broker inquiries
• Subject matter expert for equities, bonds, and OTC products within the Man Group
• Manage external and internal relationships with prime brokers, custodian banks, and counterparties
• Establish and maintain relationships with third-party providers such as prime brokers, custodian banks, and counterparties

Process improvement and governance

• Continuous review and improvement of work practices and processes; automation of end-to-end processes where possible
• Collaborate with global tech and ops partners on strategic initiatives; provide expertise for processes and systems; assist in testing technology solutions; identify opportunities for improvement
• Support in implementing process controls while ensuring compliance with operational risk controls and standards
• Collaboration and presentation of important governance metrics for the business
• Ensure that controls and standards are implemented in accordance with Man Group guidelines.
