Trading and Operations Analyst
The Trading and Operations Analyst will be based at EFG Asset Management in Portland, Oregon, and will serve as the link between portfolio management, trading, and business development for the U.S. Growth Equities team. The role involves executing trades, supporting trading platforms, and improving processes to support the growth of the U.S. Growth Equities team.
Job Description
The Trading & Operations Analyst role is a key part of the U.S. Growth Equities team and bridges the areas of portfolio management, trading, and business development. - Executing trades across multiple platforms using the order management system (CRMS – Charles River) and ensuring best execution. - Assisting with the setup and maintenance of Separately Managed Accounts and platform relationships (e.g., Envestnet and Pershing). - Serving as a key operational partner to portfolio managers, sales, risk, compliance, and other stakeholders. - Driving process improvements and automation initiatives to support the scalable growth of the US Growth Equities platform.Tasks and responsibilities
The role involves the following tasks:- Trading and Portfolio Management:
- Managing trade execution across multiple products and platforms to ensure the accurate and timely implementation of portfolio decisions.
- Overseeing the management of customized portfolios, including separately managed accounts and platform relationships.
- Performing daily cash management tasks and managing portfolios within target ranges and investment guidelines.
- Platform setup and operation:
- Maintenance of existing platforms through regular maintenance, ALM reporting, and marketing/communications/integration.
- Managing the entire setup process for new hardware accounts, serving as the primary point of contact between Operations, Portfolio Management, and Sales.
- Sales support, reporting, and marketing:
- Providing support for the creation of customer performance metrics and analyses.
- Preparing presentations and materials for potential clients.
- Coordination and management of responses to RFPs and customized client inquiries.
- Automation, innovation, and process improvement:
- Identification of bottlenecks and manual vulnerabilities in trading, reporting, and operational processes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of automation solutions to transform manual processes into scalable and efficient ones.
Requirements and qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a quantitative, trading, or investment environment (equities, bonds, alternatives, funds), ideally in asset management, private banking, or a similar setting.
- Technical and product knowledge:
- Direct experience with CRMS (Charles River) or a similar order management system is preferred.
- Familiarity with various trading platforms is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills.
