Specialized German Translator

We are looking for an experienced translator who is a native German speaker and has business-level proficiency in French to join our dynamic translation team. The position involves translating and editing documents in various fields, such as finance, business, and law, as well as working with modern translation technologies.

Tasks

  • Translation and transcription of documents in the fields of finance, business, marketing, law, pensions, information technology, etc.
  • Reviewing German translations produced by internal and external colleagues
  • Editing texts written in German, taking into account the target audience and appropriate technical terminology
  • Creating image-related copy that requires a keen sense of language, tact, and creativity
  • Maintain a constructive dialogue with internal clients to ensure that translations are optimally tailored to their needs in terms of both content and language
  • Active involvement in the management of translation memories, as well as in testing and implementing new translation technologies and processes
  • Managing major translation projects and assigning work to external specialist translators in close collaboration with the team leader

Requirements

  • Native German speaker with business-level French; good English skills are a plus
  • Strong writing skills and stylistically sound German
  • A degree in translation or an equivalent college degree (e.g., in business, law, or journalism)
  • Several years of experience translating financial, business, and legal texts
  • Familiarity with common CAT and machine translation tools and an interest in the latest translation technologies, particularly AI
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to stay on top of things even in hectic situations and to work independently
  • A healthy curiosity, the ability to advocate for ideas, and a commitment to teamwork
