Treasury Operations Specialist
As a Treasury Operations Specialist at Bank J. Safra Sarasin in Basel, you will be responsible for end-to-end collateral operations, the lifecycle management of derivatives, and reconciliation and reporting for the Treasury department. The position requires 3–5 years of experience in treasury, fluency in English and German, and the ability to collaborate across divisions as part of an agile team.
Your Role
- As a Treasury Operations Specialist at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, you are part of a unique team environment where domestic and international cross-divisional collaboration has a global impact.
- As a key member of a small, agile team, you will lead dynamic treasury operations ranging from cash management, foreign exchange (FX), money markets, repos, and securities lending and borrowing (SLB) to safeguarding our cash balances through the precise monitoring and reconciliation of active positions across international markets.
Your Responsibilities
- Support for our main trading desk in all treasury-related tasks
- Execute and manage end-to-end collateral operations, including bookings, payments, and reporting
- Manage the full lifecycle of interest rate swaps (IRS), cross-currency swaps (CCS), and credit default swaps (CDS)
- Oversee OTC derivatives risk reconciliation processes and provide timely reports on regulatory controls and key business indicators to internal stakeholders
- Analyze and resolve outstanding reconciliation discrepancies until they are fully resolved
- Foster cooperative, goal-oriented collaboration with Internal Operations teams and business divisions across Switzerland and international markets
- Assist the Department Head with the management of key projects and urgent ad hoc assignments
Your Profile
- Professional education in business or economics, or a completed apprenticeship at a financial services firm
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in Treasury
- Strong interpersonal skills, combined with a high level of motivation and flexibility to work in an exciting, challenging, and dynamic environment, as well as a willingness to contribute to our team culture
- Ability to organize and prioritize your own work
- Occasional assignments on Swiss bank holidays, alternating with team members
- Experience with Trioptima, Markitwire, and Avaloq is a plus but not required
- Fluency in English and German is required
