UBS Card Center – Middleware Engineer 80–100% (f/m/d)

Tasks

• Operation, Configuration, and Optimization of Middleware Platforms for Business-Critical Applications
• Design, implementation, and maintenance of standardized DevOps processes for platform lifecycle management
• Close collaboration with application development teams to integrate and configure applications on our middleware platforms
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex middleware, performance, and integration issues in test and production environments
• Automating recurring operational tasks to improve reliability, safety, and regulatory efficiency
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our middleware landscape to ensure that we operate reliably, securely, and efficiently

Requirements

• Degree in (Business) Computer Science, Computer Science, or a related field
• Ideally, with relevant training in middleware or DevOps
• 3–5 years of professional experience in the operation and engineering of middleware platforms (Open Liberty, IBM WAS and BAW, Tomcat, Node.js, or similar) in a production environment
• Practical experience with release and deployment processes and tools, ideally IBM Deploy, as well as a solid understanding of CI/CD and GitOps concepts
• Solid technical knowledge of Linux/Unix, networking, and virtualization; basic knowledge of containers and cloud platforms is a plus
• Excellent English skills (spoken and written); knowledge of German is a major plus
• A strong sense of responsibility, commitment to quality, and accountability, combined with excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
