UBS Card Center - Senior AI Machine Learning Engineer 100% (m/f/d)

Tasks

• lead the design, development, and deployment of end-to-end AI/ML and generative AI solutions
• Build AI-powered applications, including chatbots, RAG systems, and agentic AI solutions, using robust evaluation, monitoring, and performance frameworks
• Develop and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and data pipelines using Python, Java, FastAPI, Apache Spark, and distributed processing technologies
• Implement MLOps and observability practices for model deployment, monitoring, optimization, testing, governance, and lifecycle management
• establish engineering standards and CI/CD frameworks to ensure code quality, testing, reproducibility, automated releases, and production-grade AI deployments
• Collaborate across functions with business, product, data, security, and operations teams in Agile environments to deliver impactful AI solutions
• provide technical leadership, production support, and mentorship; coach junior AI/ML engineers; and foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing

Requirements

• strong expertise in Python and modern AI software engineering practices
• Extensive experience designing, developing, and deploying production-grade AI solutions: AI for application development, infrastructure, LLM applications, and locally hosted LLM deployments
• Proficient in Azure cloud AI platforms: Azure OpenAI, AI Studio, GitHub Copilot, Azure AI Foundry, containerized deployment models, and scalable infrastructure
• In-depth knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and prompt-based AI technologies, as well as prompting language understanding systems
• strong expertise in MLOps/AIOps, covering reproducible pipelines, automated evaluation, MLOps/CI/CD automation, and AI lifecycle management
• Hands-on experience with large-scale data engineering and distributed computing, leveraging Apache Spark, Ray, Kafka, and Qlik for data processing, machine learning workflows, and operational excellence
• recognized for technical leadership, stakeholder management, ownership, and operational excellence

Preferably experience in

• Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, or Wealth Management
• regulated and highly secure environments
• Cloud or AI-related certification
