Julius Baer Bank is seeking a university graduate as an Application Engineer to work on the development of software solutions using Java and other technologies and contribute to the Data & Analytics and Pricing team. The start date for this full-time position is October 1, 2026.

The Application Engineer position is part of the IT Application Management Switzerland team and supports the Data & Analytics and Pricing units in providing high-quality, globally harmonized data for various applications and in calculating the right prices for various banking products.What we offer

- Developing data pipelines, implementing data processes/services, and preparing datasets - Developing high-quality software solutions using Java and related technologies, focusing on back-end development - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements - Supporting business and other IT units, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in test and production environments - Test own application and data pipelines, ensuring they meet functional and non-functional requirements - Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the overall code quality - Maintain and model existing JSON-based schemas and metadata to reuse them across the organization - Collaborate with senior developers and architects from multiple banking domains to ensure alignment with Julius Baer's overall architecture vision - Apply your knowledge and skills in key IT projects and IT operations of Bank Julius Baer - Experience the Bank Julius Baer culture and values and add your own touch to it - Bring your own ideas and improvements (e.g., automation, de-complexification) to the teamRequirements
- University studies in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or in a similar field with relevant professional experience) - Knowledge of streaming technology (Kafka), Springboot, Kubernetes, and SQL - Data preparation for reporting/analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) - Experience with back-end development, including service-oriented architecture and RESTful services. Front-end skills are a plus - Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g. Git) - Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze issues and develop effective solutions - Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders - Open to take on diverse roles and learn the software development cycles from start till end - Passion for wealth management and a desire to create value beyond wealth - A global mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong appetite for learningJob details
