University Graduate – Investment Engineer 100% (f/m/d)

The Julius Baer Group is seeking a university graduate as an investment engineer who will focus on supporting relationship managers and developing quantitative tools for the investment committee. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in finance or a quantitative subject with experience in Matlab and other programming languages.

Tasks

As part of the CIO Office, you will support Investment Risk & Portfolio Engineering, which plays a key role in defining strategic and tactical asset allocations for all multi-asset class discretionary mandates, providing the CIO with ex-ante risk and liquidity reports for our internal funds, supports portfolio managers in portfolio construction and relationship managers in optimization and analysis for UHNW clients.
  • Support relationship managers with customized mandate optimizations and analyses
  • Provide high-quality and timely quantitative support to our Investment Committee
  • Maintain, automate, and continuously improve the tools used for these tasks.
  • Gain insights into portfolio management and market risk management

Requirements

  • Master's degree from a university or technical college with above-average grades in finance with a focus on quantitative topics or a quantitative subject (e.g., mathematics, engineering) with courses in finance (degree max. 12 months old)
  • Practical knowledge of Matlab (or similar) is required; previous experience with risk management and optimization as well as knowledge of other programming languages (Python, SQL) are advantageous.
  • Passion for wealth management and the desire to create value beyond wealth
  • A global mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong desire to learn
  • Fluency in English, German, or French is an advantage.
