US Institutional Sales - Vice President/Director

The position of Vice President/Director of U.S. Institutional Sales at Mars Group in New York involves acquiring and maintaining relationships with institutional investors, as well as managing junior staff. The role requires at least five years of experience in institutional sales, with a salary ranging from $90,000 to $175,000.

Tasks

  • Achieving high sales volumes with institutional investors throughout the United States.
  • Developing new business and strengthening relationships with existing customers.
  • Prospecting and Business Development, including:
    • Interact with and market to potential customers through outreach and by using public databases and websites, as required by the employer.
    • Identifying contacts for the night shift and CIOs, as well as coordinating with key team members for target markets.
  • Develop, identify, and execute strategic professional relationships with banks (retail clients across the specialized investor base). Ensure that there is a genuine interest in our services and that the client takes steps to engage in the expected flow of client interaction.
  • Formulating development and sales processes. Identifying and reaching out to prospects, building relationships throughout the entire event cycle, and conducting meetings and presentations while respecting the client’s time. Sales focus on building relationships, and delivery is based on providing the product to the client in the best possible form. Every prospect is approached with a simple, straightforward pitch, and all sales are based on a pre-selected list of potential customers.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall institutional business and customer loyalty to enable the expansion of field sales, improve customer understanding, and promote customer loyalty and satisfaction. As a manager, you will develop and implement company-wide sales processes and systems.
  • Leadership: Managing, coordinating, and supporting junior staff in carrying out the plan.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to maintain excellence in end-to-end relationships.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance in processes involving marketing.
  • Managing or leading cross-functional teams with our internal customers across functional and product boundaries, throughout the entire organization. You will be a key part of the team and help us better understand our customers' needs.
  • Maintain normal marketing activities to support public relations efforts for the company.
  • Strategic planning on how to support the institutional sales team in achieving more profound, tailored success with our clients. We work with many institutions of all sizes and scales; a positive attitude and enthusiasm are essential. You will be expected to do this in a way that gives them an immediate understanding of the value. This will foster a sense of accomplishment, satisfaction, and trust as the relationship matures. You will be expected to maintain strong relationships and a robust network.
  • As part of our sales management support, we can provide market-wide relationship insights.

Requirements & Experience

  • More than 5 years of experience in institutional sales, with a proven track record in asset sales for the U.S. Institutional Group and in wealth management, as well as a strong history of building client relationships.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to succeed in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.
