US Wealth, Middle Office Accountant

The Middle Office Accountant will support Man Group's US fund division, including the new ETF platform and internal fund structures, in setting up accounting processes and procedures as well as providing day-to-day accounting and operational support. The focus will be on establishing processes and controls to efficiently support the Middle Office team.

Job description

Tasks

  • Management and administration of day-to-day operations and processes for Man's funds regulated under the Investment Company Act of 1940
  • Communicate with the fund administrator to reconcile NAVs and monitor all other activities of the fund administrator
  • Preparation of NAV estimates based on non-financial system feeds and ensuring the integrity of internal data affecting investment accounting
  • Establishment of accounting procedures to support the funds' financial reporting obligations
  • Reconciliation of daily/monthly P&L NAV to ensure compliance with all financial and regulatory reporting requirements under the Investment Company Act of 1940
  • Support for the Principal Financial Officer of the funds
  • Ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of price and performance controls and their maintenance through the system and/or manual intervention
  • Ensuring that relevant information is included in the valuation of funds and that valuations reflect fair value
  • Monitoring of incentive/performance fees, management fees and other fee structures
  • Responsibility for relationships with service providers, including fund administration, middle office, credit administration, banking, audit, valuation agents and others
  • Actively monitor and identify trends and potential issues with operational controls to improve the operational control environment
  • Proactive and innovative approach to improving processes and maintaining internal policy and procedure manuals

Requirements

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, including experience with funds subject to registration under the Investment Company Act of 1940
  • Strong knowledge of ETF and/or investment fund structures
  • Knowledge of investment accounting policies and procedures
  • Experience with an investment manager (BU preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail, strong business acumen and ability to multi-task
  • Team player who is also able to take on individual responsibility
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple high-level stakeholders
