Job Description
The Funds Compliance team oversees the compliance program for BlackRock's US-registered product line, which includes ETFs, mutual funds, closed-end funds, and BDCs. The team supports product development, product and portfolio management, regulatory implementation, and fund board administration.Role and impact
We are seeking a highly motivated professional to serve as a member of the Fund Compliance team. This individual should be capable of effectively managing compliance risks and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and applicable policies and procedures related to 1940 Act products. The individual will provide compliance support to key partners such as product development, business operations, and portfolio management. The successful candidate will also participate in special projects and strategic initiatives.Responsibilities
* Support the development of the compliance program for 1940 Act and 33 Act funds, including providing guidance on new product development and implementation of new regulations. * Support digital assets and tokenization initiatives on the fund platform. * Played a key role in strategic projects in the area of digital assets, including implementing new controls and improving existing frameworks. * Collaborated on new fund launches and enhancements with a focus on ETFs. * Implemented compliance programs/control frameworks relevant to regulatory and legal risks, including developing policies and procedures and the associated testing program.Requirements
* 6-10 years of relevant experience in the legal and compliance department of a leading investment management/financial services company. * Experience with the Investment Company Act of 1940 is preferred. * Knowledge of digital assets, including tokenization, is preferred. * Experience implementing controls for policies and procedures applicable to investment professionals. * Familiarity with compliance-related software and applications. * Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple time-sensitive matters in a demanding and fast-paced environment. * A business- and solution-oriented approach to interacting and collaborating with key business partners is critical to this role. * Exceptional analytical, written and oral communication and relationship-building skills are required, as there is a proven track record of success as a member of a team. The candidate must have a strong ability to solve problems in a practical manner and communicate complex concepts in an understandable way. * Bachelor's degree required; law degree or MBA welcome.Our offer
