About the job

As Vice President in the Maritime & Offshore Investment Banking team in Athens, you will play a leading role in executing and overseeing complex transactions (debt, equity, hybrid) in the maritime/offshore sector. You will serve as a key point of contact with clients (shipping companies, financiers, investors), lead transaction teams, and make a significant contribution to business development and deal origination.

Tasks

  • Leadership in the execution of major mandates: structuring and execution of debt, equity, and hybrid financing, as well as M&A and restructuring transactions in the maritime/offshore sector.
  • Overseeing the development of detailed financial models, valuation analyses, and scenario/sensitivity analyses for ship, fleet, and corporate financing structures.
  • Overseeing the preparation of investment memoranda, tender documents, investor materials, and presentations – leading the team and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Primary point of contact for clients in many transactions: working with shipping companies, banks, direct lenders, funds, private equity firms, and other investors.

Requirements

  • Typically 5–8+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, structured finance, merchant banking, or investment management, with significant exposure to the shipping, transportation, oil and gas, or offshore sectors.
  • A strong track record in executing complex debt and equity transactions (including hybrid instruments) in the maritime/offshore sector.
  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills; comfortable leading the model development process and challenging assumptions.
  • Excellent presentation, writing, and communication skills in English; knowledge of Greek is desirable.
  • Customer-focused experience: confident when interacting with senior management, investors, lenders, and other stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage deal teams, coordinate advisors, and close transactions.
  • Strong commercial and strategic thinking skills, the ability to initiate new business opportunities, network within the shipping and offshore markets, and identify opportunities.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team management skills.
