The Vice President – Maritime & Offshore Investment Banking is responsible for managing and overseeing complex transactions in the maritime and offshore sector and acts as an interface between clients and the team. The position requires 5-8+ years of experience in investment banking or a related field, particularly in the maritime or offshore sector.

Overview

As Vice President in Maritime & Offshore Investment Banking in Athens, you will take on a leadership role in executing and monitoring complex transactions in the maritime/offshore sector.

Tasks

  • Execute large mandates: structuring and executing debt, equity, and hybrid financing, M&A, and restructuring transactions in the maritime/offshore sector.
  • Oversee the development of detailed financial models, valuation analyses, and scenario/sensitivity work for vessel, fleet, and corporate financing structures.
  • Lead the preparation of investment memoranda, offering documents, investor materials, and presentations—manage the team and ensure high-quality results.
  • Act as the primary customer contact for many transactions; interact with ship owners, banks, direct lenders, funds, private equity and other capital providers.

Requirements

  • Typically 5–8+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, structured finance, merchant banking, or investment management, with significant exposure to shipping, transportation, oil & gas, or offshore sectors.
  • Strong track record in executing complex debt and equity transactions (including hybrid instruments) in the maritime/offshore sector.
  • Advanced skills in financial modeling and valuation; confident in leading model development and challenging assumptions.
  • Excellent presentation, writing, and communication skills in English; Greek language skills are desirable.
  • Customer-focused experience: confident when interacting with senior management, investors, lenders, and other stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead deal teams, coordinate advisors, and close transactions.
  • Strong commercial and strategic thinking, ability to generate new mandates, network in shipping/offshore markets, and identify opportunities.
  • Proven leadership, mentoring, and team management skills.
