VP - Global Investment Strategist

Tasks

• Systematic Investment Strategist: Generate ideas, identify risks and opportunities, and coordinate the SAE investment team’s investment and portfolio decisions.
• Analytical and programming skills: Ability to efficiently retrieve, analyze, and format investment and portfolio data using various tools and functions (including derivative data), as well as to provide analytical tools and written summaries.
• Market knowledge of Greater China: Experience with, or a strong ability to develop an interest in, investments and wealth management in Greater China, including capital allocation and the measurement of client investments.
• Communication: Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, write clear and professional texts and emails, coordinate and effectively manage relevant communications and project schedules, and think creatively to solve problems.
• Team orientation: A collaborative mindset and a willingness to go beyond defined responsibilities to contribute, and to work effectively with colleagues across functions, seniority levels, and geographic locations.
• Presenting SAE to clients in the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on Greater China; leading and participating in governance meetings with institutional clients; and presenting alongside a team of investment professionals to client advisors and portfolio managers.
• Monitoring investment performance and preparing regular reports for clients, both public and private.
• Preparing high-quality client research notes, investment strategies, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
• Promote the communication of portfolio news—including internally and externally, across the entire department, the broader portfolio team, and client teams both on and off the platform.
• Collaborate with the SAE front office (i.e., trading, risk management, compliance, and IT) to coordinate and manage the platform's business operations.
• Management of the global SAE investment organization (excluding Asia-Pacific), including management and research, project task management, monitoring and coordination, as well as the administration of meetings and interactions with investment managers.
• Support for investment and portfolio analytics, including quantitative and portfolio analysis, with the ability to tailor the analysis and structure to the work and workflows.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in public asset management or the financial media, preferably in investment management, equity/asset management, or alternative investments; equivalent academic qualifications and/or a combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Extensive knowledge of systematic investing and stock markets, including active positions, portfolio construction, risk management, and performance optimization, with a deep understanding of global stock market trends.
• Experience in influencing executives and other high-level finance professionals within the organization and among clients.
• Strong writing skills in English and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to convey complex investment ideas to a broad audience.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including the ability to analyze financial data, build models, and use programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, SQL) to automate tasks.
• Strong collaborative skills, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to travel internationally, with experience in cross-border financial markets and regulatory environments.
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
