VP, Private Banking, CEE

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Vice President, Private Banker for the Central and Eastern Europe market in Zurich to acquire new clients and manage existing client relationships. The ideal candidate has experience in private banking, particularly with Russian-speaking and Eastern European clients, and possesses strong communication and sales skills.

Job Overview

As a banker in J.P. Morgan’s Private Banking division, you will drive new client acquisition and retention through your comprehensive knowledge of investments, banking, trust services, and financial planning. This role is also responsible for the client experience and leverages our resources to deliver a comprehensive wealth management solution.

Tasks

  • Acquire new customers from Eastern European regions as well as Russian-speaking customers.
  • Further develop an existing client portfolio consisting of ultra-high-net-worth clients from Eastern Europe and Russian-speaking clients.
  • Sales and implementation of investment, banking, and trust/estate planning products for key clients.
  • We engage specialists (investors, capital advisors, trust and estate advisors, and wealth advisors) to provide interdisciplinary expertise for our most complex clients.
  • Manage each account to ensure that the client has a complete profile and that accounts are properly maintained and managed, in particular in accordance with J.P. Morgan’s risk management guidelines.
  • Build trust with customers and manage relationships effectively.
  • Ensure that the proposed products and services meet the customer’s needs, goals, and objectives.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in private banking with Russian-speaking and Eastern European ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Previous experience in business development.
  • Performance-oriented, with a focus on achieving business goals and paying close attention to detail.
  • Proven sales success, including: acquiring new customers, profiling, overcoming objections, negotiation, team-based sales approach, closing sales, and requesting referrals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong relationship management and team-building skills; views teamwork as critical to success.
  • Experience or demonstrated understanding of investments, banking, and fiduciary concepts, including but not limited to: asset allocation across structured portfolios, managed portfolios, and brokerage accounts; portfolio reviews; deposit and credit solutions; basic fiduciary and estate planning products; and the identification of wealth planning opportunities.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment, including regulatory and technological developments.
  • Fluent in Russian and, ideally, in another Eastern European language.
