Learners – adolescents or mentally distressed?
Your benefits:
In this seminar, you will gain specific knowledge about students who exhibit particularly challenging behavior. You will learn to better assess tense situations, respond more calmly, and make thoughtful decisions. This will help you feel more confident in handling conflicts.
What you can expect in the seminar
Trainees with challenging behavior can place significant demands on vocational trainers and direct supervisors. Disruptive behavior often quickly leads to uncertainty throughout the entire work environment. The team and other trainees, in particular, are highly sensitive to tensions and social conflicts. At the same time, questions and concerns arise: Is the behavior temporary and part of personal development, or does it indicate a more serious mental health issue? How can you respond appropriately and provide targeted support?
In this seminar, you will learn to recognize and better understand different types of challenging behavior. You will explore when clear boundaries and consistent action are necessary, and when an empathetic, supportive approach is more appropriate. You will also learn how to strengthen team cohesion, make use of appropriate support resources, and remain capable of taking action even in complex situations.
Key topics:
- Different forms of disruptive, destructive, and challenging behavior
- Distinguishing between typical adolescent behavior and more serious mental health issues
- Leadership and Communication in Challenging Situations
- Strengthening team cohesion
