Learners – adolescents or mentally distressed?

Your benefits

You’ll gain practical knowledge on how to deal with students who exhibit particularly challenging behavior. This will enable you to act in a calmer, more thoughtful, and more confident manner in tense situations and strengthen your ability to make sound judgments in conflicts.

What you can expect in the seminar

Trainees with challenging behavior can pose a major challenge for you as a vocational trainer or direct supervisor. Disruptive behavior often quickly creates uncertainty throughout the entire work environment. The team and other trainees, in particular, can be affected by social tensions. At the same time, concerns often arise about the person’s well-being: How can you provide appropriate help and support?

In this seminar, you will learn to recognize and better understand different forms of challenging behavior. You will explore whether a particular behavior is still part of a normal, temporary developmental phase or whether it indicates a more serious psychological issue.

You’ll also explore how to lead and communicate in such situations: Do you need to set clear boundaries and act consistently, or show more empathy and tolerance? You’ll learn how to keep the team on track, monitor their progress, and assess whether continuing the vocational apprenticeship is both sensible and realistic.
