Media training 2 - How to get into the media
You learn and train:
- which of your stories work in the media
- how to prepare, place and strategically communicate topics
- how to convince with storytelling and suitable protagonists
- how to write media releases precisely for the target groups
- how to prepare and confidently conduct a media conference
- how to build and maintain sustainable relationships with journalists
What you can expect in the workshop
You are working on developing a sense of which of your content can generate media attention and how you can prepare it in such a way that editorial offices can really use it. You are honing your storytelling skills, finding suitable people for your examples, and learning how to formulate information in a way that is clear, concise, and useful for the right places.
Then comes the practical part: you learn how to plan a media conference from scratch - from the structure of the key messages to the structure of the schedule and the selection of the people who should speak. You will learn how to organize the room, technology and timing in such a way that there are no unnecessary disruptions and you can maintain attention. You will practise calmly addressing sensitive or unexpected questions without losing the thread. And you will get a feel for how to stay present during a conference without appearing artificial.
Finally, you will gain insights into the day-to-day work of journalists so that you can better assess their perspective and know how to build professional and resilient relationships that benefit both sides.
